Hi Alice welcome to party mode ..lol   You need to use "submit a request" and lodge your complaint if you want any chance at compensation.

Hate to say but I had very similar situation last week.  Was beating this players bot in the challenges (winning 9 of 10 challenges) yet they kept pulling away from me on the leader board.  That should not happen.  I think they must have some new bonus package they are using as I don't suspect that person of cheating.

Normal party mode I think max score per match is 2400 using boost.  If their score is jumping by more than that when leaderboard updates then something is wrong.  The game is getting confusing and unfair as so many people are playing different versions of SP on different devices with different features.

I hope you remember that all your opponents inside the party match are bots supposedly representing real players on the leaderboard.  They only get points on the leaderboard from playing their own match against other bots including yours.  Yes you also have a bot playing against people for you.  Scores achieved by bots do not count on leaderboard.  The bots are supposed to simulate the skill and speed of their real players.  So if you are constantly beating opponents bot, they should not be outscoring you on the party leaderboard.

Exactly Gary!  It's absolutely disgraceful if Songpop use bots to cheat us out of wins.  I have spent money on this bloody app, upwards of $700 total and I'm very annoyed.

I did submit a request yesterday asking for my wasted coins and tickets back, that is only fair!

Speaking of bots, I came across another one last night who just magically appeared online as soon as I got within 2k of her.  She also cheated me out of a badge as I had no power ups because the last bot I faced made me lose all my coins 😡  After the tourney finished I sent her a challenge amd she deleted it 😲

I have noticed that each and every one of the badge hoggers all conveniently have their chat feature disabled and are 'not accepting challenges'  Chicken shites.. I spose I can't really blame them because if they did have their chat features enabled, they would cop endless abuse, and imo rightly so!

Yeh look if they appeared online and started playing it wasn't a bot.  The leader-board is only supposed to show actual scores obtained by real people, not what the bots scored.   Personally I turn off my on-line presence indicator in privacy settings when I play party mode.  This allows you to watch the leader-board and jump in when you need to defend your position.  I'd suggest that's what they did.

Are you aware that on the leaderboard you can scope the competitors by clicking their avatar to see their profile.  You can then check out their high scores, party badges, compatability, playlists to see what caliber they are.  Like if your going to try and chase someone down, check them out first as they might be a lot better than you and just tease you by letting you get close.

My advise if you want to win a party is don't start unless the scores are low and you have at least 300 power-ups and 300 tickets, more if your not that good at it.  Also you need to be available for the duration of the party, particularly last 3 hrs.  When you get in front keep going until you have at least 50k lead, more if there's still a lot of hours left.  50k lead will let you check in every 30min in case someone is challenging.  If you are off for a nap you need 100-150k lead.  Once in front you have the advantage as you can start playing again to maintain your lead.  When your both playing, check score difference between you then over say 5-10 games see if the gap is closing or getting wider.  This will show you if you can fend them off or not, so don't waste tkts & pu's if they are rapidly catching you.  If they are slowly catching you can do a bit of math to see if you have game time left to survive.

You have to understand that a persons right to accept or deny a challenge or chat is a fundamental privacy issue.  I agree there are some "badge hoggers" but you should realise they are also pretty damn good at SongPop, try scoping a few.  Not there fault if you run out of power-ups!

Hi there. Let me introduce myself first: I'm one of those badge hoggers you sometimes face. I know it's frustrating to lose to someone who already has much more badges than you, but I hope you will agree that if we both want the same reward, we both should have a chance to win it.

Now let me try to address your post here. I've spent a lot of time trying to convince Gary about this same issue, and judging by what he says now it seems he understands better how the game works (and hopefully able to use it to his advantage :)). So let's hope I can clear off some stuff for you:

    1. I know "Le Marseillais 13" as I also play in the European region. He is one of the better players, but I have seen him lose some games, so I can promise you he's not any kind of invincible bot.
    2. When you display the scoreboard after finishing your turn, it is not reflecting the updated situation accurately. It shows your new score, but your opponents previous score (I believe this is a bug in the game, but I'm not sure). If you immediately close the scoreboard and open it again, you will see it updated with the opponent's current score. What this means, is that sometimes you get the feeling that you're catching up to someone, but the actual score is still 1K-2K to his favor, so keep this in mind. This is especially important for the final turn - you sometimes think that you won because the last time you viewed the scoreboard you were #1, but in the real score you were still #2.
    3. As Gary mentioned, players can control their online visibility from the privacy settings menu. This is why you may think someone is busy at work and you can pass him, but in reality he's just refreshing the scoreboard and waiting for you to come close, before starting to run again. In the game you have described above, it sounds like Marseillais gave you a "warning shot" with hopes you will understand he is online and stop chasing him, but you took it as a sign of him sneaking in the odd game at work.
    4. Also, for mobile players, when they really are offline, they usually get a notification on their phones when someone passes them at the top, which gives them an opportunity to jump in and take back the lead. Sometimes the best strategy is to stalk someone with a minimal gap between your scores, passing him only when it's too late for him to recover.
    5. Remember that your opponent improves just as you do, and will often start using boosters at the same time you do. He also is afraid to lose the game after investing so much time and resources, so he will also do everything he can to maintain his lead. This explains why when the jumps in your score get higher, he still keeps the lead.
    6. No, your opponents in the party are not bots, but yes, you are playing against their simulation in each turn (just as Gary explained above). Each turn is not played in real-time and you may see your opponent reaching 4th place, but at the same time he is playing his turn and seeing you reach #4. Then both of your scores are added in the party's scoreboard, which is the only thing to determine the result.
    7. From experience, you don't need to own any of the playlists that you're playing in party mode to win the party. Sometimes you know the songs but you don't want to buy the playlist. Sometimes you don't know the songs when you start playing the party but learn them as you go. How else would you explain people winning in "Japanese-pop"? :)

Finally I will add that I'm sure no explanation will erase the frustration from losing a close game. I've been burnt too many times before, and was also on the verge of quitting because of that. I believe most people do give up after the first time, and I completely understand it, but if you do choose to try again, I can promise you that the thrill of winning weighs much more than the pain of defeat.

    Cheers,
Kermit (or Oren N, if you ever get to meet me in one of the parties :) )

    Hi Kermit,

Firstly... Umm how bout you get over yourself?  I am in no way whatsover frustrated because a badge hogger has more stars or badges than I do, I'm frustrated because the majority of you 'cashed up' badge hoggers, are BANG AVERAGE at these playlists and without your power ups which provide you with a speed and score booster, plus the opportunity to remove two answers.  My friend, if I was 'cashed up' I would too buy the largest ticket and coins package available and then purchase the biggest power ups package and kick your butts!  This is not an egotistical frustration, it's a financial one.

And for the record, I find it absolutely hilarious that all the main bade hoggers conveniently have the following 3 things in common:

    1.  All have thier chat feature disabled - I can actually understand why they have disabled chat as they'd be constantly copping abuse.

    2.  Always have 'Rarely Accepts Challenges' on thir profiles

    3.  I send them all challenges and guess what?  They decline them!

NOW.... Let me address my issues with your issues about my original issues!

    1. That scoreboard not updating is absolute rubbish.  I have battled ppl in these tournament, and as I said in my initial post, when I hit the front they magically jump 3k ahead when I've just passed them and in our battle up until that point, we have been going forward normally scorewise until that time.  Another tested theory of mine, I've even deleted and re downloaded the app to get the most current version.  I have also won badges before whilst in battle with 2nd place and there was no score/time/update lapse because I won.

    2. I am aware that players have the option to hide their online status.  I only figured he was at work because when this was going on, it was 11am in France.  A 'warning shot' lol...  That's just way too funny, I can't stop giggling enough to write a response to that one lol.

    3. I play on my iPad at home and my mobile when I'm on the move or at lunchbreak at work, so I am aware that you recieve notifications when someone passes you.

    4. I realise that you don't need to buy every playlist, and you can for certain know the songs off lists which you do not own.  Yes you can also learn playlists the more you play them when you don't own them but -

It is virtually impossible to master a playlist at speed when you've never even played it before in the what?  Depending on how long you're playing for, for arguements sake, let's say 20 times in a tournament.  Mastering lists takes over 200 plays normally in head to head, so please I'm not buying that 'Le Marseillias 13' has a super human memory capacity when he doesn't own the list and has only learnt it from the tourament, sorry not scientifically possible.  Unless he's pumping out the 50/50 option in all 10 questions, which come to think of it, he most definitely is.

Thank you for putting forth your views, even if I disagree with them, it's always good to hear different opinions.

FWIW, I haven't spent a cent on tickets or powerups, although I don't resent the people who do. I just beat them using my other available resources: time and knowledge.

I was hoping my insights might prove useful to you, and I'm sorry to see you prefer ridiculing them then accepting the possibility that you may actually learn something from more experienced players. Good luck in future games.

FWIW I am not resentful of the badge hoggers, I am resentful of Songpop rewarding the rich. I am frustrated with the badge hoggers, there's a difference.

You started the ridicule by suggesting that my beef was egotistical when it wasn't at all.

You also have to be kidding yourself if you honestly believe you can win tournaments on tickets alone.  It is impossible to win without power ups unless you have a zillion tickets and play for 24 hrs straight and let alone, hope noone above you comes online in the process.

    Gary (Edited )

Hi Magpira, I gotta say I think you've taken Kermits response the wrong way and responded a bit harshly in your 02:52 response.  Please realize the only help most people get in this forum is when Kermit or myself reply to them.  I can understand why he said "frustrated" and I think I was hinting same in one of my other posts.  It's not personal, its just a normal stage that competitive people go through if they're not succeeding.  You are certainly not doing yourself any favors by resorting to name calling.

My version of a "badge hogger" is someone with seemingly unlimited resources who constantly has to win the same party for months on end and thus nobody else gets a chance.  There are other reasons for someone to disable chat, like having a discussion costs power-ups.  People often reject "new challenges" because their opponents list is full, they need places for tournaments, don't have time for more matches or they play in a closed friend group among other things.

Your point 1:  Kermit is right about the delay.  My advise is if you want to compare your scores you need to check over many games.  With a possible 2400 per match the scores can jump around.  You cannot tell the timing of when they start and you start a match, or how long each match will take.  They could be playing 2 to your 1 if they are fast and your not.  Firstly try not to let them get so close.  Put a 50k gap in.  Try subtracting your score and theirs to get the difference and monitor that difference over many games to see if they are gaining on you.

Your point 2:  "Warning Shot"...well put Kermit its exactly what I did in last party I won.  Monitoring leader-board 1hr10m before party end, with online-status off and an 80k lead.  So 2nd place starts playing and gaining so I play a few rounds to show them I'm watching and they are not making any inroads on my score.  Reaction is they stop playing.  ie Warning Shot

Your point 4:  Magpira you are making a lot of assumptions about players.  If Kermit says the player is ok then I would believe Kermit.  It is totally possible to blitz a playlist in party without owning it.  I've been a musician of sorts for 40+ years and I couldn't imagine a world without music.  Many other SongPoppers are musicians of various experience.  So often us musicians don't just know the lyrics or the melody, we know every note in that song having physically played it hundreds of times.  Songs like that we don't need to practice or own the list.  Fact is some like myself, don't even use sheet music to play the song note for note as we have a musical ear, something people without can't comprehend.

You should listen to what Kemit said in post of 03:05 and understand I agree with him.

Your post of 03:30  I can't see where you were ridiculed or called egotistical as you state.  Please refer what I said at the start about "frustration".

It is possible to win a party with tickets alone and no power-ups.  I have done it myself and know others that have also done it.

Magpira please remember what I said to you in an earlier discussion "Please don't spend money on this game if you can't afford it".

I don't want to re-ignite this discussion, but I did want to share what I saw Monday. "Le Marseillais 13" is not invincible, he can be beaten just like anyone, so keep your hopes up guys :)

    Kermit,

I don't want to reignite it either but I will say, your post of him losing proves nothing.  My issue was that he kept jumping 3k ahead at the death and was acing lists he'd never done.  Even 101 Aussie Hits he was acing, I'm Australian and I didn't know some of it, yet he did and he's French!

I know there are cheaters on SongPop2. I had the felling so I googled SongPop cheating. There are many websites that give you cheat codes and I'm talking about programming code. You insert the code when you play someone.

I just had a new look at the available cheats and I've got to say there is one in particular for unlimited coins which is quite disturbing and only a few weeks old.  All I can suggest is if your playing normal mode game and think your opponent is cheating then delete them.  If your in a party and think people are cheating there is not much you can do except leave the party.  If you can take screenshots of whats happening then you could try sending them to support with an allegation of cheating.

How can anyone get 250,000 points in 30 minutes? Impossible. Also work out how much that would cost, all to get just 50 tickets!!!!

The maximum amount of points anyone can achieve in 30 minutes must be around 2,500 (perfect score per round with boosts) * 60 (number of rounds assuming a very fast average of 2 rounds in a minute) = 150,000. And that's really an exaggerated estimate, I doubt anyone can be this fast and keep a perfect score. A more reliable score would be 2,000*30 = 60,000.

Where did you see 250,000? Are you sure the same user had 0 points 30 minutes before you checked the scoreboard?

Soooooo much cheating going on! I've won in Party Mode only twice, and I've gotten 2nd and 3rd a couple of times as well. But now I'm seeing people getting massive amounts of points in way too short of time. It's blatant cheating. I was just in a 90s Dance Party and some guy from Mexico City was able to rack up 190,000 points in a little over an hour! Really? Really??!! And of course, he doesn't accept challenges and, despite Mastering hundreds of playlists, he only has liked ONE song. I'm seeing this stuff happening in every Party I enter. Usually, once I see that somebody is in 1st place with a totally impossible amount of points, I just give up and leave. So discouraging.

Let me ask you this: if he's really able to cheat, why did it take him more than an hour to get these 190k points? Why didn't he just instantly modify his score to 500k? And why just one party? Why didn't he take all badges in one minute?
