Normal to get frustrated if your just missing out.  Keep at it eventually you will win one and then it will be like an avalanche of winning.  If you need some tips try reading my posts in this thread https://songpop2.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000507507-WARNING-THESE-TOURNAMENTS-ARE-RIGGED-?page=1#community_comment_115001027848

It must be a coincidence, but yesterday they did add a party (limited to valentine's, I guess no more than 3-4 days) - and the badge is being awarded for the 2nd place as well. My impression so far is that it doesn't get easier, as it motivates more players to race so in the end the threshold for 2nd place is same as it is for 1st place in regular parties where only one badge is awarded.

Also some who constantly win the same Party reporting other players they perceive as a threat, as they resent having to use more tickets to repeatedly 'win' the same badge; what's that about?! :'D
Meant to be a fun-game, not an excuse to act like a spiteful child :(

Anyone having an issue with a party? I was first place winner for awhile and then out of no where this guy got 1st. I got a second place badge but have yet to hear back on receiving my Dre beats headset i won? Is this the norm you play and pay for tickets only to earn a badge and no top 3 gifts?!?!

Kisstea, I think you're confusing the global party with the local one. What you see in the in-game leaderboard is the local competition (for badges), and there is an external link to the "Grand Winner Party" which shows you the score of all top players world wide. Only the 3 best players in this global leaderboard win the "real" prizes like the Dre Beats.
