    I think it's a copyright issue.  It's why they don't have many popular artists (ie: Beatles, Madonna, David Bowie, Tragically Hip, Van Halen).  Not sure about the legal specifics but this is the rumour on the forum.  Nobody from Songpop visits here so no confirmed answer.
