Cancelled VIP?

I received an email from Google play that my VIP will be cancelled next spring? I can't find any answer to why. Why? And how do I get it again?

I think you should read it again, probably just when your VIP runs out.

No it really says that it's cancelled. It usually gets renewed automatically.

My annual VIP membership apparently just ended today (i had it as of last night). I received no e-mails warning me about it. (Mine also in the past would automatically renew.). Looks like the only option now is monthly VIP. Which makes me wonder if they’re just phasing out all the current annual VIP memberships, by not letting them renew when the current period ends.
