Powerups going missing

I had in excess of 38 powerups, of which 18 have gone missing in the last two hours.  I never click on them during the games.  I go out of my way to choose my answers extra carefully so as not to accidentally click on that huge annoying blue bar underneath the multiple choice selections which offers if you want to get rid of two choices, yet still my powerups have been vanishing as I'm watching.  What's going on?

  I would start by changing your password and logging out, then back in again.
