My Beef with Songpop2 2
Firstly, I am fairly new to this app, I only discovered it back in October 16. This is a phenomenal music app, don't get me wrong. Although a few playlists repeat quite a bit, but I am impressed by it's range and comprehension, and it's a shame really because this has the potential to be one of the greats.
I have so many beefs with songpop2 though and they make me so annoyed that i just have to vent.
1. Prices
How money hungry are these corporate consumer marauders? Not surprised but gee it pisses me off. Ticket prices are way too expensive and especially for myself, being from Australia I have to convert the amount into AUS dollars and then I get an extra $10 or $20 (depending on amount) on top of that, for I don't know what the hell for. It's really not affordable for your average pauper. It's enough that you have to purchase tickets to play in tournaments and then for a fair chance at winning, you also have to spend more money on power ups! That's so ridiculous at those prices, it's deplorable. This company just rewards the rich and this place is absolutely swarming with cashed up morons who wouldn't get more than 3-4 answers correct per round if they were playing without their cheat options.
2. Speedster Power Up
This annoys me more than anything. Firstly it's 3 power ups to use which is again ridiculous but I get annoyed the way a) the person using it only needs to get 5 or 6 correct and they'll still win and half the game just sit there and not answer and b) when I am answering all 10 correctly yet the powerup user can pass me when I'm 3 questions up on him? That's so unfair. Why can't we have sperate tournaments for those cashed up fools to cheat their way to glory and for us paupers who actually like to compete fairly and squarely, as all competition is supposed to be.
3. Awards
Another absolute sham these are. Woohoo you win a tourney and recieve a badge and 50 tickets! Wow 50 tickets eh? Such a shame it cost me over 300 tickets to win a laughable 50! 50 tickets should be for 10th place at very least. There is ZERO PLAYER INCENTIVE on this app. Why would I want to spend loads of money for nada in return? Am I insane? I can't afford power ups constantly as well as many tickets that it takes to compete in these tournaments so when I am just using tickets, I am wasting my time because I will not beat someone with power up advantages, it's kinda pointless and has put me off quite a bit. First place should be actually worth something, the player needs to win sometimes too, after all what are they doing with their money? You should receive something like 1000 for first, plus the badge, plus 3000 power ups. Make it worth it for goodness sakes. And why do I have to spend one coin to select from my own playlist that i paid for already in the head to head? Also they don't ever seem to have giveaways or competitions to win tickets, there is, as I said before, zero incentive for the player.
4. Deleting Challenges From iPad
OH MY WORD... This infuriates me to the point of no return. Can someone please explain (in layman's terms) how the hell you delete challenges without knocking that freekin nudge button? I swear I must be dumb AF because I can't get it to delete until I've manically swiped back and forth about 25 times... There's got to be an easier way surley?
5. Player Search
There should be an option to search for any online player using the app not just facebook and random match ups. I'm so sick of getting people that send me boring playlists, i want to find likeminded music lovers from all over the globe.
6. Stars
Can someone please explain how it works? I can't seem to work it out. I googled and read something about accuracy rather than speed and the other night I played focused solely on my accuracy and got about 8 out of 10 lists correctly in row after playing about 150 games and it was my third badge yet I never received any additional stars. I'm really confused.

Hi Magpira, you have raised a lot of issues there however most of them are not new issues. As you say you've been playing for what 3 months? I'd like to just raise one issue with you please. A lot of us have been playing for years, we use powerups as they are a feature of the game, not some hack or "cheat" which is unauthorized. If you want help or to make friends don't start by calling everyone cheats.

Well I didn't mean to hit a nerve there, but i will stand by my beliefs that constantly using boosters, for every single game, is cheating in my eyes. Like i said, half these ppl are below average and only seem knowledgeable because of the use of boosters and 50/50 power ups.
I am not here to make friends, I am here to challenge myself but my beef is that I cannot legitimately challenge myself without spending loads of money (which i don't have) and there is no point in even entering tournaments unless you have adequate booster tokens to accompany the overpriced ticket pack you just purchased. Be realistic for goodness sakes..
OH and F.Y.I.. This place is full of disgruntled people who are tired of the same old cashed up fools hogging all the tournaments... I got warned about it before seeing it for myself... SO the cheat tag has been on these individuals looooooong before I ever came along.

Hi look I think your missing the point that the game is designed and hosted by a company that wishes to make money out of it, just like almost every product produced by any other company. It's not a charity. If they can't make money out of the players who are happy to pay, then they wouldn't be able to host people like us (yes, me too) to play it for free. The purpose of powerups is primarily to get people spending money to buy them and the reward for that is you get an advantage. The feature has been there since the start and is available to anyone who wants to use it. The great thing about powerups is players who are not that good at it, have a way they can compete at higher levels and keep them interested. The bad thing is that the game is not completely skill based. When you play the normal game, it's impossible to tell if someone has used a powerup to reduce their choices, so its not valid to claim they are cheating by using them as you don't know. In party mode you can boost your score with powerups and it is obvious to other players who know what to look for when its happening. Most people use powerups in party mode and its vitually impossible to win without them. In case you haven't done it, a correct guess in party with boost can give you a lot more than 100 points. A correct guess without boost is 100 points max. I lost my first serious attempt at winning a party even though I had a score of 320,000. The reason I lost was I ran out of powerups and the competition didn't. Unfair? Yes it was, but that's how the game works and you learn from it and have another go with a lot more powerups up your sleeve next time. Powerups are there to stay, they wont remove them as they make money out of them, so get used to it. Its normal for any competitive player to get disillusioned when they discover the game is not entirely skill based. But the only time I believe I've called "cheat", is when people where using unauthorized methods or very dirty tactics to beat me.

I totally understand that the concept of a business is to make money, but this is extreme. If they lowered their prices, had more 1/2 price sales, had weekly ticket giveaways or awarded more power ups for things like getting all 10 correct or whatever, they would make a hell of a lot more money than they are currently as it would appeal cuz its more affordable therefore more peole would make purchases.. Less is more kinda thing.
I understand the concept of boosters and am fine if they stay but it really is an unfair advantage that only rewards people with money to spend. At least they get some money out of me as i do purchase ticket packs, so I believe you should be rewarded if you spend money period... not only if you spend the max amount and also purchase power ups. I mean the fact that i have to use a coin to scan my own playlists is absurd considering i paid for them in the first place!
I was playing a tourney the other night and was a fair bit ahead, but only using tickets, then someone came in and started catching me, using power ups of course, and in the end i gave up and left because i was just wasting tickets and was never gonna beat him because of them. My main beef with the booster is how much ppl pass you by and even worse, that they push you down in process, which is totally unfair when you're answering every question correctly and the power up user is not. You totally should be rewarded in some way if you ace a list, regardless of whether you have power ups or not is my belief. Like I said previously, zero player incentive. Other game apps I use that you need to pay for, always reward you for spending and give you decent payouts when you win, it's worth you're while to spend and keep spending if that is the case. I just think they should offer more rewards for the player, just make it worth it, not 50 tix and some ridiculous badge, I just figured out you need to merge your badges, and shock horror, at a cost! Another stupid charge just to merge badges you earned and paid for initially.
I am a competitive person, that's why i love this app but I can't afford to be competitive at those prices. Why not have seperate tournaments or at least one for just ticket users, that would be fairer for those of us who can only afford ticket packages and we deserve rewards too as tickets are a paid purchase too.
Anyway I also worked out it's easier to delete challenges from my mobile rather than my laptop, so I'm all good now!

Would be great if they had "ticket only" party but it wouldn't be foolproof either. You could sit there for 24 hrs solid with a pile of tickets and still beat someone who's better than you. It would take people away from the normal party though, where you need powerups, that would cost SongPop profit margin and so unlikely to happen.
Are you aware that in party mode you are always playing a computer simulation "bot" and never a real person? A "bot" that has the sole purpose of pushing you to spend money! Are you also aware you probably have a few "bots" as regular players?

Yes I get your point on ticket only challenges but if you are spending money purchasing ticket packages then you should be rewarded, and to save up enough tickets to play for 24 hrs by watching the vids would take far too long and do my head in. That way with a ticket only comp, they could actually seriously rank us and hold comps head to head etc... It would be cool.

My biggest beef is "How can a player beat me when they they take longer on a quiz than I. For example, on a recent quiz with this fellow Andrew--He took 10.6 secs to complete the quiz, I took 9.5 and yet we tied. and I have complained about this many times--placement does not matter-its happens no matter where the winning answers or losing answers are. Can you do anything about this, or is this a handicap you give to players who don't do as well? I have been playing for at least 8 years. Please let me know--I am so tired of losing a game when I had a better time,many times by quite a bit--and like I said I know I had heard when it is the last song you get extra points etc... but no matter the placement on the many quizzes this has happened on, I end up getting a better score and losing anyway-why????. I really feel I'm being punished for winning all my games--not bragging--I really love music and I want to get credit for it..SP has failed to give me an answer. They just blow me off. Has anyone had this happen to them--please let me know--This is the only game I play, I don't want to have to stop.Plus I am paid through the year with VIP -so don't want to lose that money.

Hi Julie please look at post I have just put up about "scoring". To answer your question you need to understand how it works and unfortunately its a little tricky. Its also not explained anywhere so I'm going to post it as people should be familiar with this. Basically your getting beat because your probably quicker on the first 4 answers and slower on the 5th which has a massive time dependent bonus.

I accidentally deleted a player! It says now I can rechallenge them in 6 days! This is absolutely absurd that anyone should be punished for a mistake! I spend a Lot of money here for tickets and power up or coins whatever they are but they are not cheap and you never get any deals, but you get penalized for accidentally deleting an opponent! No way I emailed them and if that's the case I'm deleting the game and i will be done! Geez I am not even that harsh on my kids!!! Thanx, Di0
